Remmers RM is used for restoring, supplementing and re-profiling mineral substrates such as natural stone, brick, concrete and synthetic stone. It is used for reproducing ornamental building elements in a tamping procedure.
Properties:
- Low free alkali content
- Good flank adhesion
- Low inherent stress
- UV-resistant pigments
- Can be made hydrophobic
Application:
- Apply a contact layer to the pre-wetted substrate using grout (dry mortar/water) in a layer thickness of approx. 2 mm.
- Apply the mortar onto the contact layer wet-on-wet in layer thicknesses of 1.5 to 3 cm, 1 to 2 mm beyond what will become the final surface.
- Joints in the masonry must be maintained.
- Application of thin layers at the edges of defective areas can be facilitated by adding Remmers Haftfest to the mixing water (mixing ratio 1:10). In this case, hardening will be somewhat delayed but the bonding strength will be increased.
- After sufficient hardening (when the grain pops), roughen the surface or scrape down to the final surface.
- Rework the repaired areas (using a scraper or abrasion tool) onto the structure surrounding the defective area.
- Wait at least 24 hours before applying subsequent layers.
Application Instructions:
- Once it has hardened, mortar must not be made workable again by adding either water or more wet mortar.
- The type and duration of the reworking and surface treatment will influence the colour.
- Slight deviations in colour between different batches are possible.
- Protect wet mortar surfaces against frost, rain and drying out too quickly for at least 4 days.
If stored in an unopened container, the product will last for 12 months.
