Secil Isovit Lightflex
Secil Isovit Lightflex is a lightweight bonding and levelling mortar formulated from mixed binders, natural cork aggregates, and Natural Hydraulic Lime. Developed for use within the Secil Isovit Cork ETICS system, it is designed for fixing expanded cork insulation boards and creating a reinforced levelling coat prior to the final finish. Its cork-based formulation provides a lighter mortar with improved thermal performance compared to conventional ETICS adhesives and basecoats.
Suitable for both new-build and retrofit applications, Isovit Lightflex can be applied to masonry, concrete, cement renders, painted facades, ceramic-clad facades, and expanded cork insulation boards when used in conjunction with appropriate mechanical fixings.

Key Benefits
Lightweight Formulation
Natural cork aggregates reduce density and improve workability compared to conventional ETICS mortars.
Breathable System Component
The inclusion of Natural Hydraulic Lime and vapour permeability of μ ≤ 20 makes it suitable for breathable wall build-ups.

Why Use Isovit Lightflex?
Unlike standard cement-based ETICS adhesives, Isovit Lightflex incorporates cork aggregates and Natural Hydraulic Lime to create a lighter, more vapour-permeable mortar. It is specifically designed for use with expanded cork insulation boards, providing both adhesion and reinforcement within a single system component.
Its combination of low density, good adhesion, breathability, and thermal performance makes it particularly suitable for natural insulation systems and breathable retrofit projects.
Installation Overview
1. Surface Preparation
Substrates should be:
- Clean
- Stable
- Free from dust and loose material
- Reasonably flat (maximum deviation 10mm over 2m)
2. Mixing
Mix each 20kg bag with 6.1–6.5 litres of clean water using a mechanical mixer until a homogeneous paste is obtained.
3. Board Fixing
Apply to the insulation board perimeter with additional fixing points in the centre or use full-surface bonding on flat substrates. Mechanical fixings should also be incorporated.
4. Reinforcement Coat
Apply a first coat, embed a suitable fibreglass mesh, then apply a second coat to fully cover the mesh. Total reinforced coat thickness should be a minimum of 4mm.
5. Finishing
Apply the final decorative finish within 30 days of completing the reinforcement coat.
6. Storage
Store dry and protected from moisture. Shelf life is 12 months in unopened packaging.
