Roundtower lime wash is a traditional blend of our own superior mature lime putty and water. Lime wash is naturally white, alternatively earth pigments can be added to produce a fantastic range of colours.
Lime wash is a very traditional, inexpensive finish to protect render, plaster and masonry and is the most 'breathable' paint. It contains no toxic chemicals.
Raw linseed oil is sometimes added to lime wash for external use to give it water shedding properties.
A 15L tub of lime wash will cover approximately 40/50m2 per coat. It is recommended to apply as many coats as possible, ideally at least 3/4.
While applying lime wash it is important to continuously stir the paint, as the mature lime putty tends to settle.
