STEICOmulti Renova is a high-performance, moisture-variable vapour control membrane designed for the airtight internal sealing of roofs, walls and ceilings — particularly in retrofit and renovation projects where moisture safety is critical.
Unlike a fixed vapour barrier, Renova adapts to humidity conditions, with an Sd-value that varies from 0.4m up to 35m. This allows it to restrict vapour flow when required, while also supporting safe drying potential when conditions change — making it a very robust choice for timber frame and breathable insulation build-ups.
Key Benefits
-
Moisture-variable performance (Sd 0.4 – 35m) for safer hygrothermal behaviour in real buildings
-
Optimised for demanding building-physics situations with a very wide “variable range” (over 80-fold spread)
-
Airtightness layer for internal use in roof, wall and ceiling constructions
-
Highly tear-resistant, ideal for busy sites and renovation work
-
Robust and flexible 3-layer membrane: coated PP nonwoven fabric, mesh reinforced
-
Suitable for insulation batts and air-injected / blown insulation
Typical Uses
STEICOmulti Renova is used on the warm side (internal side) of the insulation for:
-
Pitched roofs (attic conversions, insulated rafter zones)
-
Timber frame walls
-
Ceiling airtightness upgrades
-
Retrofit / renovation work where moisture risk and unknowns are higher
Installation Notes (Best Practice)
-
Install as a continuous airtight layer on the internal side of the build-up
-
Keep membrane tension-free, avoid damage and gaps
-
Seal all laps, junctions and penetrations using compatible airtight tapes and accessories
-
For blown/injected insulation builds, follow correct fixing spacing and support detailing
(A vapour control layer only performs properly if it’s airtight — poor taping/detailing defeats the purpose.)
