Delta FM is a low-profile Type C cavity drain / damp-proof membrane designed primarily for floor applications where build-up height is critical (for example: basements, cellars, stair landings, and tight detailing). Manufactured from virgin high-performance HDPE (PE-VHD), Delta FM creates a controlled air gap that helps isolate dampness and contamination from internal finishes—supporting fast-track refurbishment with minimal disruption.
Delta FM is commonly used to support screeds, floating floors, and dry lining build-ups, and can also be integrated with insulation and underfloor heating systems, depending on the floor build-up design.
Product Description
Delta FM is specifically developed to combat capillary dampness and contaminated substrates with a low stud profile that minimises changes to existing floor levels while still providing an air gap for damp pressure equalisation. It can also be linked to other Delta MS membranes where required.
✔️ Type C Drained Protection – designed for use in Type C drained protection systems (BS 8102 referenced by manufacturer)
✔️ Stud Profile: low profile (approx. 4–4.5mm)
✔️ Material: Virgin high-performance PE-VHD / HDPE
✔️ Certification: BBA Approved
Key Features
-
Low build-up height – ideal where floor levels must be maintained (excellent for stair and threshold detailing).
-
Fast-track installation – supports floor finishes with minimal “down time” in refurbishment scenarios.
-
Damp & contamination isolation – effective barrier to salts, liquid water and water vapour.
-
Reversible system – minimises damage to historic or heritage structures.
-
Multi-application – designed for floors, with the option to use on walls where suitable.
-
Compatible with build-up upgrades – can be used alongside thermal insulation, acoustic layers and underfloor heating (system-dependent).
Recommended Applications
Delta FM can support dry lining, screed or flooring in situations including:
-
Damp floors subject to perennial moisture.
-
Refurbishment projects where rapid completion is needed, including where salt contamination is present.
-
Floors/walls that are friable, painted, mould-contaminated, oil-contaminated, or otherwise unsuitable for direct finishes.
-
Areas subject to vibration, where robust isolation and resilience is beneficial.
Installation Flexibility
Depending on the design approach and site conditions, Delta FM may be detailed as:
-
An underfloor damp-proof membrane beneath screeds or floating floor build-ups.
-
A dry lining membrane to walls, ventilated internally via top/bottom detailing where appropriate.
-
A sealed Type C system (wall/floor/ceiling) with provision for managing water build-up via drainage and (where required) sump and pump strategy.
