Cork Board Insulation
Cork Board Insulation is a natural insulation board manufactured from expanded cork granules without the use of synthetic binders. Suitable for walls, roofs, floors, and ceilings, cork boards provide thermal and acoustic insulation while remaining vapour permeable and compatible with breathable construction systems.
Used within the Isocor and Secil Isovit Cork insulation systems, cork boards are particularly suited to solid masonry construction, renovation projects, and vapour-open wall build-ups where moisture management is an important consideration.

Key Benefits
Natural & Renewable
Manufactured from 100% cork harvested from cork oak trees, a renewable raw material that can be harvested without damaging the tree.
Thermal Insulation
Provides effective thermal insulation for walls, roofs, floors, and ceilings while remaining compatible with breathable construction methods.
Acoustic Performance
The dense cork structure contributes to improved acoustic comfort and reduction of airborne sound transmission.
Vapour Permeable
Suitable for vapour-open wall constructions and insulation systems where moisture movement through the building fabric is required.
Durable & Stable
Naturally resistant to rot, mould, pests, and long-term degradation.
Sustainable Construction
Fully recyclable and manufactured without added synthetic binders, adhesives, or chemical additives.

Why Use Cork Board Insulation?
Cork board insulation combines thermal performance, acoustic benefits, and vapour permeability within a single natural material. As part of the Isocor and Secil Isovit Cork insulation systems, it can be used in both new-build and renovation projects where breathable construction and long-term durability are important considerations.
Its natural composition, renewable origin, and compatibility with lime-based construction systems make it a popular choice for sustainable building and retrofit projects.
Installation Overview
1. Surface Preparation
Ensure the substrate is clean, sound, and suitable for receiving the insulation system.
2. Board Fixing
Fix cork boards using a compatible adhesive such as Secil Isovit and any required mechanical fixings in accordance with the system specification.
3. Reinforcement Layer
Apply a reinforced levelling coat incorporating alkali-resistant mesh as specified within the insulation system.
4. Finishing
Finish with a compatible breathable render or plaster system appropriate to the project requirements.
5. Decoration
Apply breathable decorative finishes where required.
