Join us at Roundtower Lime for a one-day practical lime training course, where you’ll gain hands-on experience and a clear understanding of how lime is used in both modern construction and the repair of historic buildings.
Throughout the day, we will cover:

Natural Hydraulic Lime (NHL) and Non-Hydraulic Lime

Lime Mortars, Pointing, Rendering, and Limewashing

Insulating Lime Plasters and Breathable Insulation Systems
-
Limecrete Flooring and Modern Applications of Lime
In addition to demonstrations, participants will have the chance to get involved in practical exercises. There will also be time to discuss your own projects, so we encourage you to bring along photographs for advice on specific challenges.
CPD Accreditation
This course equates to 5 CPD points, and a certificate of completion can be provided upon request.
Course Presenters
Eric Kingston
With extensive conservation experience across Ireland and the UK, Eric holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Building Conservation from the University of Reading and has trained at West Dean College in Stone Conservation.
Harry Good-Stephenson
Director of Roundtower Building Products, Harry brings over eight years’ experience advising architects and specifiers on the use of lime mortars and natural insulation. His expertise spans both heritage projects and sustainable new builds.
Practical Considerations
Please wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear for outdoor demonstrations, along with weather-appropriate gear, particularly during colder months.
