Heritage Finish 35
Heritage Finish 35 is a ready-mixed non-hydraulic lime putty mortar designed for pointing, general masonry work, and fine finish render coats. Manufactured using our premium matured lime putty, aged for a minimum of four months, and blended with carefully graded natural sands, it provides a highly breathable, flexible, and workable mortar suitable for traditional and historic buildings.
Supplied in a neutral beige colour, Heritage Finish 35 is commonly used for heritage repairs, conservation projects, and as a fine float coat over insulating lime plasters. Its high free lime content and non-hydraulic binder create a mortar that is more vapour open than hydraulic lime mortars, making it particularly suitable for solid-wall construction and moisture-sensitive masonry.

Key Benefits
Multipurpose Lime Mortar
Suitable for:
- pointing,
- general building work,
- masonry repairs,
- and fine finish render coats.
Its versatility makes it suitable for both new work and conservation projects.
Highly Breathable
The non-hydraulic lime putty binder creates a highly vapour-permeable mortar that allows moisture to evaporate naturally from the building fabric.
Made with Matured Lime Putty
Manufactured using lime putty matured on-site for a minimum of four months, improving workability and providing a traditional lime mortar performance.
Fine Finish Texture
Popular as a float finish topcoat over:
- Roundtower Insulating Plaster,
- Roundtower SuperTherm,
- and traditional lime render systems.
Flexible & Compatible
The high free lime content creates a softer mortar that can better accommodate movement within traditional masonry than rigid cement-based alternatives.
Naturally Coloured
Contains no added pigments, providing a natural buff finish without the risk of artificial colour fading over time.
Typical Applications
- Pointing stone masonry
- Pointing brickwork
- General lime building work
- Fine float coat rendering
- Heritage restoration
- Conservation projects
- Traditional solid-wall buildings
- Breathable renovation projects
- Finish coat over insulating plasters
Why Use Heritage Finish 35?
Traditional buildings rely on vapour permeability to regulate moisture naturally. Dense cement mortars can restrict this drying process and may contribute to trapped moisture within masonry.
Heritage Finish 35 provides:
- high vapour permeability,
- flexibility,
- workability,
- and compatibility with traditional materials,
making it particularly suitable for stone buildings, historic brickwork, and breathable wall systems. Its fine grading also makes it an attractive option as a finishing render where a traditional float finish is required.
Typical Applications by Use
| Application | Recommended Use |
|---|---|
| Pointing | Narrow joints (<10mm) |
| Building Mortar | Traditional masonry work |
| Float Coat Render | Approx. 3mm finish coat |
| Insulating Plaster Finish | Suitable over Roundtower Insulating Plaster & SuperTherm |
